It's A Tonka Toy World

Went to Barrhaven where they are busy digging for a tunnel under the railroad crossing on Greenbank Road.  I tried to take the photos during the day with a little action taking place however after a discussion with the site manager it was decided weekend shooting would be far safer.  Thus the photos with everything in the park position.

I took these for "Chaser Pooh", I hope you like them.

So Chase, get outside and play with these things.  We need the project finished so you better get at it!!

This is More Like It

For some unknown reason Buddy behaved himself today and I had a great time out for the flight.  Here is a video of the flight with the Dashware embedded and I think adds something of interest to the video.  Please leave a comment and let me know what you think.

Buddy has a mind of his own !!

Yesterday I had my first, and hopefully last flyaway!  It was like Buddy had a mind of his own and I feel very luck to have him back in one piece.  I am, however, nervous of flying again.  I have no idea why this happened.

A Day on the Bank of the Rideau River

This past Thursday, as we do every week, my friend Mike and I got together to fly the "Beasts".

After trying one or two other locations for our flight we ended up at the Rideau River.

I thought I would do something different and post 2 photos side by side.  One (on the right) will be the photo as it came out of the camera and untouched. The other (on the left) will be the HDR processed photos.  I thought it might be fun to see the difference between the two and witness the power of AEB (Automatic Exposure Bracketing) Photos processed as HDR (High Dynamic Range )Photos.

I hope this gives you a good idea of what can be produced by this technique.

Next post will be the remaining photos from this trip.

NB*  Really Good Day.  Cath is out and pain is for the most part gone so I feel like a different person.

An Interesting Post

I turned Buddy over to my friend Mike.  He has been thinking about getting a Phantom 3 so I thought he might like the opportunity to try it out.

The pictures below were all taken by Mike.  I decided to post a series of photos from this flight to demonstrate for Mike the difference between an HRD Photo and the photo that comes out of the camera unprocessed.  Mike tends to like the high contrast and high saturation HDR Photos so I processed his AEB (Automatic Exposure Bracketing) photos to his liking.

There is no post processing on the photo other than having the 5 photos stitched together in Photoshop

This photo was HDR processed in Photomatix Pro 5 then stitched together in Photoshop

I hope this helps  you make your decision Mike.  Let me know.

Another Friend Gets to Try Buddy

I had the pleasure today, of taking my friend Ron to the local park and letting him fly Buddy.  I took Buddy up to 100 feet and then let Ron fly.  The only instruction was to never descend below 100 feet and have a good time.

Within a few minutes and Ron was flying like a pro and I believe he had a good time.

While I was flying the quadcopters Ron was taking photos with his camera.  These are just some of the photos Ron sent me.  Thanks for sending them.

I must say " Boy Buddy looks good in flight".

One last photo that I played with a little in the post process factory.

12 - 14 spasms today and I am going to the pain clinic tomorrow.  Pot and pain pills together help a little but the spasm pain over powers all else.  Can't wait to see what the Pain Clinic says tomorrow

Nepean Sailing Club - July 2 2015

Went to the Nepean Sailing Club with my friend Mike.  Here we are able to open things up and let the quadcopters open  up a bit and fly with some speed.  Flying over water removes, for the most part, any obstacles that might otherwise interrupt a high speed run.  This type of flying does tend to drain the batteries faster than slowly moving around to get the picture you are wanting.

Boy Buddy loves to fly and speed seems to just invigorate him.

During our stay there was a fire department with 2 crews doing water practice.  While one crew was on the water the other came to spend time with us and try out our equipment.  The above center photo is of the Captain of the Crew and he kept a close eye on Mike.  I don't blame him.
